Fortune 500 Companies Impact Locally

11 Jun 2015 by Desiree Samson

A thriving business — from local to global — is good for the community in more ways than one. This week, the 2015 Fortune 500 list was released, and we are one of the five Arizona companies listed. The Phoenix Business Journal created a poll  that asks, “How important is it to have Fortune 500 companies based here?” The survey currently shows 82% of the respondents believe that it is extremely important, as it shows other companies Arizona is a good place to do business.

“Here at Insight we have a talented mix of teammates, and we are always seeking new talent,” says Jennifer Fernandez, VP of HR at Insight. “It’s not only a good benefit to the Valley to have Fortune 500s to boost the economy and create jobs, but for employees, who get to be a part of a thriving culture.”

One of our core values is Heart, and we take a lot of pride in that. Part of that value is giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Last summer was our second consecutive year that we were able to help give a college send-off to seven amazing students by “Investing in Tomorrow’s All-Stars.”

“We teamed up with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Helios Foundation to outfit seven, four-year college scholarship winners with brand new laptops,” says Amy Protexter, VP of marketing at Insight. “We believe in giving back to the community by providing technology to students who can benefit from some extra support. And we are excited to be teaming up with the Helios Foundation again this July to make an impact locally for additional students.”

July is just around the corner, so look for coverage on the next set of young adults we get to surprise.
