Internet of Things (IoT)

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of everyday objects equipped with computing devices to send and receive data through an internet or cloud-based connection. Anything from shipping containers to conveyor belts can be in the IoT by integrating sensors, cameras, listening devices and more.

IoT smart devices can collect data for processing to help inform decisions and monitor resources or processes. Industries are adopting IoT for a spectrum of uses, including:

  • Predictive maintenance
  • Image processing
  • Customer experience management
  • Quality assurance
