One of the earliest large-scale K–12 organizations to embrace the Surface Pro 11 Copilot+ PC platform
Industry: Education

Deploy 1,250 new AI-ready devices while managing app compatibility, printing, ARM architecture readiness, and budget constraints.
The district successfully deployed 1,250 Surface Pro 11 devices and established a scalable foundation for future AI initiatives.
Solutions: Devices, Microsoft Surface, Procurement, Snapdragon
The district’s goal: Deploy a new generation of classroom devices that provide students and educators with a modern, secure and highly mobile experience — while supporting their long-term technology roadmap.
The initiative centered on 1,250 Microsoft Surface Pro 11 devices powered by Snapdragon processors and built on the Copilot+ PC platform, representing more than $1M in technology investment. The scale of the deployment alone made the project significant. But the introduction of ARM-based computing into a large K–12 environment introduced additional complexities.
To be successful, the district needed to ensure:
Insight Public Sector brought together a coordinated team of experts from Microsoft, Qualcomm, TD SYNNEX, and the district to build a deployment strategy that balanced innovation with operational readiness.
Working alongside district technology leaders, our team:
Attention was paid to software readiness, device management considerations, and print environment requirements, helping reduce risk before devices reached classrooms.
Rather than treating the deployment as a simple hardware transaction, the project became a joint modernization effort. By aligning technical architecture planning, procurement strategy, and deployment readiness activities, the partner ecosystem delivered a classroom-ready solution package that included Surface Pro 11 devices alongside essential accessories and support components designed to create a complete end-user experience.
Today, the organization is positioned as one of the earliest large-scale K–12 organizations to embrace the Surface Pro 11 Copilot+ PC platform in a production environment.
Surface Pro 11 now serves as a core device platform within the district, providing a real-world validation of ARM-based computing in education. The successful rollout demonstrated that next-generation AI-ready devices can be implemented at scale while meeting the practical requirements of educators, students and IT administrators.
Beyond the immediate deployment, the project delivered broader strategic value:
Technology in education continues to evolve, school districts are increasingly evaluating how AI-enabled devices can support productivity, creativity, and personalized learning experiences. Through their Surface Pro 11 deployment, this client has established a scalable foundation for that future.
The district’s success has been the result of a strategic investment in future-ready learning — a model for how schools can modernize with purpose, align innovation with real-world needs, and create classrooms built for the next generation of students.
